Is It Morally Wrong To Track People WIth Micro Chips?

I was reading about RFID Chips on http://RFID-News.org/

It is very interesting technology but I am not sure about all the applications. How do you feel about children being implanted with RFID chips in order to monitor their whereabouts?

I would be interesting in hearing peoples thoughts on this subject. Thanks.

Yes it is. For further exploration of that see the movie Logan's Run. this whole idea is horrid - and just simply a reflection on how frightened and neurotic we are getting.

if they do not know about it then yes

While I believe that RFID chips implanted by government order would be ethically questionable, I believe that as far as consumer technology goes if there is a demand for it, then it would not be ethically wrong to supply that. While I would be against implanting a chip inside a child, giving them a bracelet, earring, or some other inane piece of jewelry with an RFID would not be an intrinsically bad thing.

I think the largest fear about RFID is not its wide variety of applications, but its potential misuse. Stalking people with RFID would be ridiculously easy or even unwarranted “taps” into your whereabouts (and before you think the gov’t wouldn’t do that, guess what’s not constitutionally protected yet because the technology was unfathomable at the time…). in addition, high tech thieves that would like to see what goods you have in your house can scan it and pick up all the items with RFID tags in there, effectively casing your home without raising eyebrows.

I, however, believe that as long as RFID’s are properly safeguarded, we have little to fear on having them enter our lives… with caution.

I think as long as the parents know that the child is being tracked, or could be tracked, it's fine.

Yes, I think its very wrong.

it makes a lot of sense in the case of an alzheimers patient

we are being tracked already with much of what the system has in place, certainly what can a tiny little microchip do of any harm.

I say bring it on "tel-star" we have give much of our authority over to the moral majority.

I am sure its application will only be used for the betterment of humanity.

We can start by using our children as the FEAR factor and justification to implement such technology as we have with so many other devices.

Then lets move on to the "killer bee's" I think many will want to know where their at.

The price of fear sells at a much higher rate with consumer speculation"

"Thanks for the question, I feel better already getting that out of my system"

I'am a Christian and this is a sign of the end of times. the mark of the beast. in the future(who knows when)you will not be able to eat, get medication, ANYHTING without this mark. Screw that. I can starve!
